Description

This is a late 19th-century terrace of houses at Nos. 1 to 25 Tomlin's Grove, along with associated area railings and gate piers. The houses are constructed of stock brick with a stucco eaves cornice, blocking course, and a slate mansard roof. They are two storeys high, with dormers and a basement, and each house has two windows. First-floor windows have stucco architraves and labels above. The ground floor and basement feature a bay window with a stucco facade, bracketed sill, and corniced roof. A round-headed doorway is flanked by a stucco architrave featuring a vermiculated keystone and spandrels, a label supported on double brackets, and tapered wall dressing above. Steps lead up to the doorways. There are good iron area railings with round-arched decorative gate piers. The houses at Nos. 1 to 25 form a group with Nos. 35 to 49 Arnold Road and Nos. 2 to 44 (even) and Nos. 1 to 27 (odd) Campbell Road.
