Description

Grice's Wharf is a warehouse dating from approximately 1850 to 1860. It is located on the north side of Rotherhithe Street, Southwark. The building is constructed of stock brick with a hipped slate roof, concealed behind a coped parapet, and features a curved return on the west side. It is four storeys high, with a four-bay facade facing the street, where hatch ranks have been adapted into windows. Small, two-light, segmental-arched windows are present. Similar detailing is found on the river front. The interior retains timber floors and posts. The warehouse contributes significantly to the character of a narrow, dark street leading towards St Mary’s Churchyard. A later gangway links it to Grice's Granary Film Studios across Rotherhithe Street.
