Description

Numbers 1-15 form a terrace of fifteen houses built between 1824 and 1832. The houses are constructed of multi-coloured stock brick with slate mansard roofs, featuring dormers except for number 11, and are topped with a stucco cornice and blocking course. Each house is three storeys high, with an attic and basement, and has two bays, although the ground floor has three openings. The ground floor is stuccoed and rusticated, with bands forming voussoirs around the segmental-arched openings. The houses feature panelled pilaster doors with cornice heads and fanlights; the entrance to number 1 is around the return. Sash windows with glazing bars are present, with the first-floor windows featuring stucco architraves, friezes, and cornices, while the second-floor windows have stucco architraves. A stucco sill band runs along the first floor. The interior of the houses has not been inspected. The terrace is accompanied by cast-iron area railings with spearhead standards. Numbers 1-15, together with other listed buildings in Trinity Church Square, form a group of significant group value.
