Description

Numbers 14, 15, and 16 are a terrace of three houses built between 1853 and 1856. They are constructed from yellow brick and feature slate mansard roofs with dormers hidden behind a coped parapet. The houses are two storeys high, with an attic and basement, and each has two bays. The ground floor showcases banded stucco rustication. There are steps leading up to square-headed, pedimented doorways that have proud panels on the architraves, with recessed four-panelled doors topped by oblong overlights. The sash windows include margin lights; those on the ground floor have stucco cornices and bracketed sills, while the first-floor windows feature stucco eared and shouldered architraves. The interior has not been inspected. The houses are complemented by cast-iron area railings with spearhead standards. Numbers 1-32 Merrick Square form a group with these houses.
