Description
Numbers 17, 18, and 19 are a terrace of three houses built between 1853 and 1856. They are constructed of yellow brick and feature slate mansard roofs with dormers behind a coped parapet. The houses are two storeys high, with an attic and basement, and each has two bays. The ground floor is distinguished by banded stucco rustication. Access to the square-headed, pedimented doorways is via steps, and the doorways have proud panels on the architraves, with recessed four-panelled doors and oblong overlights. The sash windows include margin lights, with the ground floor windows featuring stucco cornices and bracketed sills, while the first-floor windows have stucco eared and shouldered architraves. The interior has not been inspected. The houses are accompanied by cast-iron railings with spearhead standards in front of the areas. Numbers 1 to 32 Merrick Square form a group with these houses.
