Description
The alcove from old London Bridge, located in the inner quadrangle of Guy's Hospital, was constructed between 1858 and 1862 by George Dance. It features a stone semicircular wall with a half dome and cornices on both the inside and outside. There are half-balusters on either side, and a decorative scroll is applied at the top of the arch. The alcove was resited between 1902 and 1904. Originally intended as a shelter for convalescents, it now serves as an ornamental feature in the inner quadrangle of Guy's Hospital.
