Description

This listing describes a pair of villas located at 39-45 Newent Close, built around 1836. The buildings are constructed of stucco and feature low-pitched hipped slate roofs. Each villa is two stories tall and consists of three bays, with lower two-story, one-bay sections set back on either side, now known as Nos. 39 and 45. The main section has quoin pilasters with a key pattern. Nos. 41 and 43 have replacement prostyle porches in front of the original doors, which are adorned with fluted, attached three-quarter columns, cornice heads, and decorative fanlights. The sash windows have moulded stucco architraves and glazing bars; the ground floor windows in the main section are round-arched with Gothick glazing bars, while the others are square-headed. The interior has not been inspected.
