Description
Willow Cottage is a house, originally a lodge, dating from 1836. It was built as a lodge to The Willows, a now-demolished estate. The house is constructed of rendered brick, with a slate roof.
The west front features a full-height porch with a gabled roof, projecting from the main roofline. The porch has a segmental entrance arch highlighted with keyblocks, the top ones vermiculated. A datestone above the arch reads "Willow Cottage/1836". The porch has arched open lights on its north and south sides, the north light having a wrought-iron grille. A two-panelled door leads inside. To either side of the porch are two-light casement windows with arched upper glazing bars. The south return has a bay window with similar casement windows. A single-storey rear wing contains 20th-century casement windows and has a truncated ridge stack. The interior was not inspected.
