Description
The North Annexe to the Southern Block of South-East London Technical College is a large building dating from the mid-19th century. It stands two and a half storeys high with a basement and features three windows in the main block beneath a moderately low-pitched slate roof with eaves soffit. There is a two-storey, one-window entrance extension that is set back from the main facade. The building is constructed of multicoloured stock brick with a stuccoed front, which includes pilasters that support an entablature at the second floor level, continuing across the second floor in plain reveals. The first floor has moulded architraves and bracketed cills, while the ground floor features sunk panel pilasters and a cornice with console brackets, topped by a segmental pediment over the middle window. Access is provided by ten steps leading to a double door, which has a plain fanlight and is well set back in a round arch with a moulded architrave and impost string.
