Description
The White Hart is a public house built around 1870, as indicated on the 1873 Ordnance Survey Map. It features polychrome brickwork with stuccoed dressings and a slate roof that is concealed by a parapet and brick chimneystacks. This corner building stands three storeys tall, with five windows facing New Cross Road and two on Queens Road, including a tripartite window. The elaborate parapet has a curved panel on Queens Road, a pedimented panel with brackets on New Cross Road, and a modillion cornice. There are full-height pilasters at the corners and bands between the floors. All windows are sashes with vertical glazing bars and horns. The second-floor windows are cambered with keystones, and two of them have cast iron flower guards. The first-floor windows feature round-headed arches adorned with stuccoed decoration and keystones above, along with roundels between the windows and cast iron flower guards. The bar front includes a fascia, end pilasters with double brackets, and windows with ventilation grilles above, separated by pilasters. The interior retains a bar partition, and both bars have the original panelled wooden counter.
