Description
Lindsey House is a late 18th-century building located on Lloyd's Place. The main block is three storeys high and features three windows, while there is a two-storey, two-window east wing and a one-storey, two-window west wing. The house is constructed of yellow stock bricks that have been later colourwashed red. A parapet conceals the roof. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are topped with gauged flat brick arches and set in wood-lined reveals. The centre window on the first floor has a moulded stone architrave, frieze, cornice, and a bracketed cill. The ground floor windows are set in round-arched recesses. A later door, which has been moved from the centre to the left bay, features fluted pilasters and a reproduction radial fanlight. The centre bay now contains a sash window in a stuccoed recess, with a blocked patterned fanlight above as decoration. There is a cast iron railing along the parapet of the left section, and a fire insurance sign is located on the left side of the first floor. A painted board reading "Lindsey House" is positioned above the centre window on the first floor. Additionally, there is a later canted bay on the left return.
