Description

The Priory is an early to mid-19th century Gothic villa situated on Belmont Hill. It is a two-storey building with a basement, originally featuring three windows, constructed of multicoloured stock brick. The roof is fairly low-pitched and hipped, covered in slate, and includes a gable over the slightly projecting central entrance bay. This bay features diagonal stepped, gabled buttresses at its angles, a cornice, and a battlemented parapet above. The entrance is accessed via a 4-centred gauged brick arch leading to a door of narrow panels. The windows are casement windows with glazing bars; those on the ground and first floors are set under hood moulds. Two chimneys are located on the right side, each with three decorative Doulton shafts. A set-back, two-storey extension with one window is located to the left and includes a modern oriel window on the first floor.
