Description
This is a row of six houses, numbered 22 to 32, on Lee Terrace in SE3, built in the second quarter of the 19th century. The houses are constructed of multicoloured stock brick with stuccoed frontages. They have moderately low-pitched slated roofs with a pedimented gable over the central block. Each house is two storeys with an attic and basement, designed with a single window in the central block and one in the recessed entrance section, both featuring a cornice and blocking course. Two pilasters are on the axis of the central block, and a single pilaster is at its outer angle, all supporting a cornice band. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within moulded architraves. The pediment contains triple round-arched windows; the central one was originally blank, although the attic windows within numbers 30 and 32 have been altered to square. Console brackets support the cornices above the ground floor windows. The frontages of numbers 30 and 32 have a pebbledashed finish. Numbers 22 to 28 have tetrastyle porches, incorporating inner Ionic columns and outer square Doric columns. The houses have four-panel doors, each topped with a plain rectangular fanlight. Numbers 30 and 32 lack porches, but their doors are flanked by paired pilasters.
