Description

This is a small group of early 19th-century houses built of red stock brick, with parapet fronts and basements. Located on the east side of Kennington Road, the houses at numbers 53, 55, and 57 each have a different number of windows, one, two, and three respectively. Number 53 features a bowed front, while the others are two windows wide. The windows are sash windows with replaced frames, and all are topped with gauged flat brick arches. The first-floor windows of numbers 55 and 57 have particularly long sashes. Cast iron balconies are present on number 57. Each house has a four-panel door. The door to number 53 is set within a deep stuccoed reveal under a lintel. The door to number 55 has a cornice head and a plain fanlight, set within a round brick arch with impost blocks. The door to number 57 also features a cornice head and a plain fanlight, but this is contained within a round architrave on narrow pilasters, all within a stuccoed panel.
