Description

This is a mid-19th century terrace of ten houses, numbered 28 to 37, located on the north side of Hanover Gardens. The central four houses slightly project forward, while the outer three houses on either side are stepped back. Each house has three storeys and a basement, with two windows on each front. The exterior is of stock brick with a painted basement, and features stucco bands, a frieze at the level of the second-floor window sills, a top frieze, a cornice, and a blocking course. The windows are mostly sash windows with margin lights, set within gauged brick arches, which are segmental on the ground floor. Five steps with wrought iron handrails lead to the doors, which are of two or four panels, set within stuccoed surrounds. Cast iron spearhead area railings are also present.
