Description

No 43 on Netherford Road is an early 20th-century building designed with an educational appearance, reflecting the lighter style of the London County Council. It features elements of the Arts and Crafts movement combined with Tudor influences. The structure is built of red brick, accented with Portland stone bands and dressings.

The building has a gabled bay on the right and a parapet on the left, standing two storeys tall with irregular window arrangements. There is a small entrance bay on the right, while the main entrance is located on the left. The doors have elliptical heads, and there are elliptical relieving arches above the blank tympana of the windows, which are wide casements adorned with small leaded panes and Art Nouveau ornamental motifs. The reveals of the doors are chamfered and include key blocks. Above, there is a cornice with lesenes running through it, and a truncated pediment featuring the initials "LCC" in a cartouche.
