Description

This is an early to mid-19th century pair of buildings located on the east side of Wandsworth Road. They are two storeys high with a basement, and each has two windows. The buildings are constructed of stock brick. Number 573 has a rendered parapet, while Number 575 features a stucco frieze, cornice, and blocking course, along with stuccoed basements. Both buildings have reeded pilasters with decorative paterae heads supporting a frieze and cornice. The ground floor and doorway of Number 573 feature wooden rustication mimicking ashlar, whereas Number 575 has plain stucco in the same area. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within flat, gauged brick arches on the first floor. Five steps, featuring wrought iron and cast iron rails, lead up to the doors, which are made of six flat panels, topped with a cornice and a simple rectangular fanlight.
