Description

The Chelsea Physic Garden was founded in 1676 by the Society of Apothecaries. The boundary features an early 18th-century gate with side pieces and brick piers topped with stone. A stone tablet set into the wall beside the gate is inscribed "Hortus Botanious Societatis Pharmaceuticae London 1686."
