Description

A terrace of nine houses, numbered 1 to 9, located on Queen's Gate Terrace in London, was built between 1856 and 1857 and designed by W. Harris. The terrace is four storeys high, with a basement and attic. Each house has two windows. The construction is stucco, with a rusticated ground floor. The terrace follows a 2-6-2 window arrangement, with the central section projecting slightly and featuring angle quoins. Each house has a Doric porch, complemented by a continuous iron-railed balcony with a stone base supported by brackets. The windows are distinguished by eared architraves and cornices resting on consoles. The second-floor windows share a similar design, lacking cills but featuring dropped ears with tassels. The third-floor windows are also similar to the second. The facade includes a guilloche frieze, a modillioned cornice, and a stucco attic with eared architraves, panelled angle piers, a cornice, and a blocking course. Original area railings are also present.
