Description
This is an early 19th-century building comprising Nos. 1, 2, and 3 Carlyle Square. It is a four-storey block with a balanced façade, originally featuring two, three, and two windows respectively. The building is constructed of amber brick, with a stucco ground floor and a dentil entablature below the attic level. The ground floor has arched, recessed openings. Continuous iron balconies are present on the first floor. The central section of the building is slightly advanced and features fluted Ionic pilasters extending through the first and second floors. The first floor windows are French casements, while the others are sash windows, most retaining their original glazing bars. Area railings are also present. The building is similar in style to Nos. 40, 41, and 42 on the opposite side of Carlyle Square.
