Description
The tomb of Sir Charles Lock Eastlake, who died in 1865, is located in Kensal Green Cemetery. It features a gabled headstone made of Carrara marble, with colonnettes on the sides. The headstone includes inset lead lettering and a cross, as well as an incised wreath that encloses his monogram. Eastlake was a painter known for his literary and Italian scenes, and he served as President of the Royal Academy and as Director of the National Gallery.
