Description
Nos 1 to 11 Stanley Gardens is a mid-19th century terrace of stuccoed houses designed in an elaborate classical style. The buildings rise four storeys plus a basement. The ground storey features rustication with pairs of Doric porticos. There is an iron railed balcony on the first floor, and the windows are framed by a pilaster order. The end houses have bow windows that extend to the level of the main cornice, which is situated below the top storey. The rear elevations are also stuccoed and are designed as a slight variation of the front facades. This terrace connects to Stanley Crescent and Kensington Park Road, creating a formal composition with St Peter's Church, Nos 10 and 11 Stanley Crescent, and Nos 12-29 Stanley Gardens.
