Description

Nos. 11 to 49 Queen's Gate Terrace form a large, symmetrical terrace built between 1856 and 1857, designed by W. Harris. The building is constructed of stucco. Nos. 11-19 and the right-hand end of the former Furse House are treated as end pavilions, projecting forward and featuring rusticated quoins. The terrace is arranged over four storeys, an attic, and a basement (the former Furse House has an additional attic). Segmental pediments top the first and third-floor windows, and there are cornices to the second floor. A main cornice features a foliated frieze, with a subsidiary cornice above the attic. A balustraded balcony is present on the first floor. A balustrade runs along the parapet and area railings are also present.
