Description
68A-69 Compton Street are terraced houses with shops, dating from the late 18th century, with some later alterations. They are constructed of brown and yellow brick, and their roofs are hidden by parapets. The buildings rise three storeys and each has two windows. The ground-floor shop front of no 68A features panelled pilasters, a cornice above the fascia, a reeded cornice above the doorcase, and one panelled door that retains its original design. The shop front of no 69 has a reeded cornice above the doorcase, but the rest is boarded up. The upper windows on both houses have cambered arches, and all but the second floor of no 69 have sashes of original design. A parapet runs along the top, and there is a stack on the party wall.
