Description

This is a circa 1820 terraced house located on Liverpool Road, Islington. It is constructed of multi-coloured stock brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with stucco dressings. The roof is hidden, and there are party-wall chimney stacks. The house follows a side-hall entrance plan and stands three storeys high, with a two-window frontage. Steps lead to the entrance, which features a gauged-brick round-arched doorway with a panelled door and plain fanlight. The ground floor has an 8/8 sash window beneath a gauged-brick flat arch. The first floor has full-length 6/6 sash windows, also with gauged-brick flat arches, and Gothic-style iron balcony railings. The second floor also has 8/8 sashes within gauged-brick flat arches. A stucco band sits beneath the cornice, and there is a full-height stucco pilaster strip to the right, marking a party wall. It possesses group value as an element of a cohesive terrace.
