Description

Approximately 60 meters of railings located to the north-east of the junction with Willow Bridge were constructed in the 1820s for the New River Company. These railings are made of cast and wrought iron and feature straight shafts topped with urn finials. Every eleventh shaft is coupled with another set back, and there is a mid-rail on cast-iron and brick plinths. The railings include an inserted gate and are associated with the realignment of the New River and the rebuilding of Canonbury Road Bridge in 1823.
