Description

This is a late 18th or early 19th century terraced house with a ground-floor shop extension, located in Clerkenwell. The building is constructed of yellow brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern, with most of the brickwork now painted. The roof is hidden behind a parapet. It is arranged over three storeys and has a two-window front.

A single-storey shop extension was added in the mid-19th century, featuring panelled pilasters supporting console stops at the ends of the fascia and cornice. There is cast-iron cresting above the shop front. A house entrance is on the left, and the shop entrance is in the centre, both with cornices and overlights. Cast-iron grilles are positioned on either side of the entrances, above the windows. The shop front largely retains its appearance from 1901, aside from alterations made to create double doors to the left of the shop entrance. The upper-floor windows have gauged brick heads. A parapet runs along the top of the building.
