Description

The Statue of Sir Hugh Myddelton, located on Islington Green, was created in 1862 by the sculptor John Thomas. It features a standing figure made of Sicilian marble, positioned on a pedestal crafted from grey granite. The statue is flanked by putti holding urns, which are part of a fountain. This statue was a joint presentation from Sir Samuel Morton Peto, the New River Company, and the local community of Islington.
