Description

A row of terraced houses with shops, dating from the 1830s. The buildings are constructed of yellow brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with some parts painted. The roof is hidden behind a parapet. The original design featured three storeys over a basement, with two windows on each level.

In the 19th century, the ground floors were altered to become shops. Some original bracketed fascia details remain, although their designs vary. Number 6 has a 19th-century shop front, while number 10 has separate entrances for the shop and the house, with a likely 19th-century shop front. Number 12 retains the remains of a shop front, including a pilaster and fascia, although it has been altered back into a house front. This building also has a flat-arched entrance with an overlight, a cornice, and a panelled door of original design.

The upper-floor windows are flat-arched, with gauged brick detailing; some may have been rebuilt, particularly at number 10. Round arches of gauged brick set back the first-floor windows, also potentially rebuilt at number 10. The upper windows retain their original sash windows at numbers 4 and 12, and at the first-floor right of number 6. There is a parapet to the roof and stacks built into the party walls between the properties.
