Description
The tunnel connecting the eastern and western portions of Tottenham Cemetery was opened in 1883, as indicated by plaques on the gables on either side. It is constructed of rock-faced stone with some ashlar dressings. The structure features two retaining walls with gatepiers and wrought-iron railings on top, lining a path that dips beneath a public footpath that runs through the cemetery. This footpath is supported by an arch with stepped gables on either side, each adorned with a plaque featuring a trefoil and the date. The tunnel is part of a group that includes the chapel and connects it to the war memorial.
