Description

The war memorial in Tottenham Cemetery honors the men of Tottenham who lost their lives in the Great War. It features the 'Cross of Sacrifice', a design created in 1919 by Sir Reginald Blomfield for war cemeteries abroad, which has been widely adopted in Britain. The memorial is made of Portland stone and consists of a cross on an octagonal stepped plinth, with a bronze sword overlay. This memorial serves as the focal point of a formal layout in the western half of the cemetery, which was opened in 1883.
