Description
Belfield House and Lady Margaret School are early 18th-century houses, altered subsequently. They are constructed of brown brick with red dressings, and have a slate roof. The main block is three storeys high, with a symmetrical three-window facade to the centre, flanked by one-window projecting wings. Later extensions add two windows to the left and one to the right. A modern vehicle entrance is incorporated into the ground floor of the left extension. The windows are flush-framed sashes, retaining glazing bars, and each is topped with a prominent keystone. A cornice runs along the top of the second floor. A timber Doric porch shelters the central entrance, which features panelled doors. Some interior features remain.
