Description
The Church of St Dionis is a church dating from 1886, designed by Ewan Christian. Constructed of red brick with ashlar detailing and a slate roof, it is built in the Perpendicular Gothic style. A three-stage tower is located to the northeast, featuring a crenellated parapet, pinnacles, and a low pyramidal roof. The main entrance is on the northwest side. The church includes a four-bay nave with a narthex and aisles, a long chancel, and no clerestory. The nave features octagonal columns, and squat coupled columns are present at the junction with the narthex. The roofs are pointed wagon shaped. A font and pulpit, originally from Wren's St Dionis Backchurch, are present, featuring fine carving and twisted balusters.
