Description
The Convent and School of the Sacred Heart is a building complex established from 1875 onwards, designed by J F Bentley. It features red brick construction with Oulton stone dressings and tiled roofs, showcasing a Free Tudor style. The structure consists of three storeys arranged around three sides of a cloistered courtyard. The chapel, located at the southeast corner, has four pairs of traceried windows with buttresses in between. Adjoining the southwest is a primary school built in red brick, which has a two-storey south front with five windows, constructed between 1899 and 1900. This complex was built on the site of Cupola House.
