Description

Number 243, which includes Number 241, is a large house that was formerly three separate houses, with the right part rebuilt. It dates from the early to mid-18th century and stands three storeys high with five windows. The building features a high-pitched slated roof and is constructed of stock brick with a parapet and red brick dressings. The ground floor has finely gauged window arches, while the arches on the first and second floors have been rebuilt. The sash windows are set in near-flush box frames, and there is a modern door in a panelled reveal. This property is included partly for its group value, as it forms a group with Numbers 235, 237, 239, 243, 247, and 249, which are of local interest.
