Description
Bilney Lodge is an early to mid-18th century building located on Church Street in Stoke Newington. It stands three storeys tall and features five windows. The structure is primarily constructed of brown brick with red brick dressings, and the upper wall has been partly rebuilt. It has a stone-coped parapet and a cill band on the first floor.
On the ground floor, there are gauged flat red brick arches above sash windows, some of which have glazing bars, set in stucco-lined reveals. The upper floors have 19th century segmental arches over sash windows with glazing bars, some of which have been replaced, also in stucco-lined reveals. The entrance features a half-glazed door topped with a cornice head that extends to form impost blocks of the doorcase, which is flanked by attached columns, entablatures, and an open pediment with dentil cornices. Inside, there is a fanlight with interlaced bars set in a narrow moulded architrave.
