Description
Number 14 is a terraced house located on Took's Court, dating from around 1720. It is constructed of brown brick with red brick dressings and features a tiled mansard roof with dormers.
The building has three storeys, an attic, and a basement, with three windows on the front. Ionic pilasters frame the sides of the house, extending to the full height and topped with an architrave and a pulvinated frieze, although the second floor has been rebuilt in yellow stock brick and is missing its cornice. The entrance features a wooden doorcase with a segmental-headed oblong fanlight, panelled reveals, and pilasters set in rusticated surrounds. It also has consoles and a dentil cornice with a segmental pediment, along with panelled doors. The recessed sash windows are topped with red brick segmental arches that are tuck pointed. A parapet completes the facade.
The interior has not been inspected. The property includes attached cast iron railings to the areas in front. Originally listed in the London Borough of Camden, Took's Court has been part of the City of London since April 1, 1994.
