Description
No. 14 Brushfield Street is a town house built around 1784-1785. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a gambrel roof with a brick end stack. The building has a double-depth plan, stands four storeys high with an attic, and has a two-window range. The shop front, which dates from the mid to late 19th century, was boarded over at the time of the survey. The windows have cambered arches, with 12-pane sashes on the first and second floors and 6-pane sashes on the third floor. There are flat-roofed dormers in the attic. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have retained panelled doors, dados, shutters, and a dog-leg staircase with stick balusters.
