Description

Numbers 66, 68, and 70 are a group of three terraced houses dating to around 1840. They are constructed of rendered brick with a roof that is not visible. The houses are three storeys high, with a basement level, and exhibit variations in frontage: Number 70 is two windows wide, while Numbers 66 and 68 each have a single window to the front, alongside a side entrance door. Horizontal bands mark the first and second floor levels, with Number 66 distinguished by a moulded cornice. Numbers 68 and 70 feature 16-light sash windows, while Number 66 includes tripartite sash windows to the upper storeys; the smaller side panels of these windows contain pointed tracery. The entrances are accessed via panelled doors, each topped with a round-arched fanlight. The interiors have not been inspected. The properties are accompanied by spear finial railings enclosing the areas of Numbers 68 and 70. These houses, along with Number 64, represent the most well-preserved and characterful examples of early 19th century houses on the south side of Leighton Road.
