Description
The pedestrian entrance and garden wall to The Elms was built between 1838 and 1840 by George Basevi. The entrance features a stucco façade with a square-headed doorway, which originally had a drip mould that has since been cut back. This doorway is flanked by octagonal piers that have moulded capitals and pyramidal tops. The entrance includes a panelled door. The garden wall is made of painted brick and has a stone coping, with stucco piers at the north end that are similar to the gate piers.
