Description

Numbers 1-4 are a group of two pairs of semi-detached houses. Numbers 1 and 2 date to the 18th century, but were refaced in the mid-19th century and probably had a left-hand bay added at that time. They are stucco-built with plain stucco bands at floor levels, rising to three storeys and a semi-basement, with 3 and 2 windows respectively. The recessed doorways have overlights and panelled doors; Number 1 has a 20th-century tented canopy. The windows are recessed 4-pane sashes, with the ground floor windows being tripartite and fitted with shutters. A cornice and blocking course top the facades. Attached cast-iron railings with spike finials are present to the areas of numbers 1 and 2.

Number 3 dates to the mid-19th century and is stucco-built with rusticated quoins and a plain ground floor. It has a slated roof, three storeys, a semi-basement, and 3 windows. It features an Ionic prostyle portico. The windows are recessed 2-pane sashes, and there is a cornice and blocking course.

Number 4 dates to the early 19th century and is stucco-built with a slated roof and projecting eaves. It is three storeys high with two main windows. A round-arched doorway has a moulded surround, reeded quarter columns, and a half-glazed door. The recessed casements have margin lights; the ground floor has canted bay windows surmounted by cast-iron balconies to the elongated first-floor windows, and there are four smaller windows on the second floor. The interiors were not inspected.
