Description
No. 45 Burton Street is an end of terrace house with a later shop, built around 1811-1813 and altered over time. It was designed and constructed by James Burton. The building is made of yellow stock brick and has four storeys plus cellars, featuring two windows. The mid-19th century shopfront includes Corinthian pilasters that support an entablature with a dentil cornice, flanked by enriched consoles, although the shop window has been altered. Both the house and shop doorways are square-headed and have overlights along with panelled doors. The recessed sash windows have gauged red brick flat arches, and the first floor features cast-iron balconies. The building is topped with a parapet. The interior has not been inspected.
