Description
The war memorial at British Medical Association House is a significant structure completed in 1954 by the sculptor James Woodford. It features a bronze fountain set within a circular pool, which is surrounded by steps. The memorial includes four carved statues made from Portland stone, each representing the themes of Sacrifice, Cure, Prevention, and Aspiration. This memorial is an excellent example of the trend to commemorate civilian professions following the Second World War.
