Description
The Tomb of the Rider Family in Hampstead Cemetery is an elaborate headstone dating from around 1901. It is made of marble and bronze. The design features a wide stone with simplified Ionic pilasters on columns that support a pediment, which has a central square-headed panel rising behind it. This central panel contains bronze plaques with inscriptions in clear lettering; the top plaque is adorned with ears of corn. The entablature is carved with the words "In sacred hope & loving memory," while the base is similarly inscribed with "The family grave of Mr. & Mrs. W.R. Rider of Hampstead."
