Description
The Statue of Francis Bacon, located in South Square, was created in 1908 by Frederick W Pomeroy to commemorate the tercentenary of Bacon's election as Treasurer. This bronze statue depicts Bacon in contemporary costume and stands on a Portland stone pedestal. The pedestal features a carved wreath and is inscribed with details of Bacon's career.
