Description
Netley Cottage is a detached house, likely built around 1779 and probably originally a farmhouse. A southwest extension was added around 1910. The house is constructed of stucco with hipped tiled roofs. It has two storeys and originally featured three windows. The former main entrance has been replaced by a bay window, and a 20th-century French window is located at the north end. The windows are recessed sashes with exposed boxing; the south side features tripartite sashes on both the ground and first floors. The interior has not been inspected. It is noted that the house was formerly the home of Chief Justice Coleridge, and Robert Louis Stevenson stayed there.
