Description
No. 72 is a terraced house with a later shop, built in the early 18th century. It was refaced in the mid-20th century in a Neo-Georgian style and has been extended at the rear. The front is made of red brick and features a plain brick band at the first floor level, while the original brown brick return has floor bands facing Perrin's Court. The building has a tiled roof and stands three storeys high with three windows. The 20th-century shopfront is present at ground level. The upper floors feature flush framed two-pane sash windows with exposed boxing. There is a thin brick cornice beneath the parapet and an old lead rainwater head. The return side includes an early 19th-century doorway with an incised surround that has rectangular stops and panelled reveals, topped with an intersecting cusped tracery fanlight. The interior has not been inspected.
