Description

The monument to Harvey Brown, who died in 1874, is located in Highgate (Western) Cemetery. This Grade II listed structure is a two-stage monument made of marble and pink granite, inspired by Italian Renaissance tombs. The lower stage features an inscription panel flanked by engaged columns and is set within festooned pilasters that are accompanied by harpies. The upper stage displays a relief of Christ with children in the tympanum, all within a pitched gable that is topped by a seated angel holding a trumpet.
