Description

The monument to William Lovett, who died in 1877, is located in Highgate (Western) Cemetery. It is an obelisk made of Portland stone, standing on a two-stage plinth with an inscription. Lovett was a significant figure in the working-class Radical movement, known for drafting the People's Charter in 1838 and serving as the first secretary of the Chartist Convention in 1839.
