Description

Numbers 60-66 and their attached railings are four terraced houses built around 1839-1849 as a continuation of the south side of Argyle Square. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick with stucco detailing to the first-floor sill band. They are four storeys high with basements, and each house has two windows. The ground floor features round-arched, architraved openings. The doorways are 20th-century reproductions, with pilaster jambs supporting cornice heads, fanlights and panelled doors. Gauged brick flat arches top the recessed sash windows; the first floor architraves on numbers 60 and 62 are ornamented with cast-iron balconies, while numbers 64 and 66 have plain iron window guards. The houses have parapets. The interiors were not inspected. Attached cast-iron railings define the areas.
